Today we saw more of Yellowstone’s sights, beginning with
the hot springs and geysers in the Norris area. Yellowstone has the largest
concentration of such features in the world, and various bacteria in the hot
water create interesting color effects.
Incredibly, this is only one of many such areas in Yellowstone, each one a bit different in terms of colors, sizes, shapes, and types of hot springs.
Next we headed toward the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone,
which features both a “lower” and “upper” falls. I thought the lower falls was
the most impressive feature of the park. In fact, we both agreed it was the
most beautiful single natural sight either of us had seen before.

Later on we took a detour drive to an area called the
“Cascades” which featured an interesting river running downhill over rocks.
Yellowstone is full of rivers and lakes, and each one is a vivid blue/green
color.
