Day 1: Start! (New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio)

This morning we finished our final preparations at home and began the trek at 7AM. Our starting mileage was 27230 miles.

It was a bit scary to think about finally leaving! Our very first destination was Saratoga Springs, NY to visit my college friend Heidi and her fiance Joe. It took about 3.5 hours to get there. We had breakfast with them and caught up!

We then commenced the 7-hour drive to Geneva State Park campground, located on the shore of Lake Erie in Ohio. We each drove for about 3.5 hours. It was quite a bit of driving today, but we are anxious to get out of the Northeast and explore some new territory! In all, we averaged 9.5 mpg... and filled up on gas 3x. We arrived at the campsite (electric only) at 9PM.

  1. I thought you were going to be going cross-country in a sparkly RV covered in hearts! What is this boring silver stuff about?

HAVE A WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL TRIP!
